70SIGNALINGQUIET TALK (QT)/ DIGITAL QUIET TALK (DQT) [ANALOG]Your dealer may have programmed QT or DQT signaling on your transceiverchannels. A QT tone/ DQT code is a sub-audible tone/ code which allows you toignore (not hear) calls from other parties who are using the same channel. When a channel is set up with a QT tone or DQT code, squelch will only openwhen a call containing a matching tone or code is received. Likewise, signals thatyou transmit will only be heard by parties whose QT/ DQT signaling matches yourtransceiver. If a call containing a different tone or code is made on the same channel youare using, squelch will not open and you will not hear the call. This allows you toignore (not hear) these calls. Although it may seem like you have your own privatechannel while using QT/ DQT, other parties can still hear your calls if they set uptheir transceiver with the same tone or code.Operator Selectable Tone (OST) [Analog]If a button has been programmed with [Operator Selectable Tone], you canreprogram the QT tone or DQT code on each of your channels by OST List.1 Select your desired channel.2 Press and hold the button programmed as [Operator Selectable Tone].• Alternatively, you can press the button programmed as [Menu] to enterOST Mode using the Menu Mode.3 Press the [ ] and [ C> ] buttons to select your desired tone or code from 1to 40.4 Press the [ S ] button to save your new setting.• After selecting and setting up your desired tone or code, press the[Operator Selectable Tone] button to activate the OST function. Press thisbutton again to turn the OST function off.RADIO ACCESS NUMBER (RAN) [NXDN]RAN is a signaling system designed for NXDN digital radio communications. When a channel is set up with a RAN, squelch will only open when a callcontaining a matching RAN is received. If a call containing a different RAN ismade on the same channel you are using, you will not hear the call. This allowsyou to ignore (not hear) calls from other parties who are using the same channel.COLOR CODE (CC) [DMR]Color Code is a digital signaling for DMR protocol to enable smoothcommunication among groups using the same channel.
