3. BATTERY PACK• Ni-Cd BATTERY PACK (PB-13)This battery pack has not been charged at the factory inorder to provide you with the greatest number ofcharge/discharge cycles. You must charge the batterybefore use. The battery pack will require severalcharge/discharge cycles before you can expect to seethe maximum operating period between charges. If thebattery will be stored for greater than 2 months it shouldbe recharged before use.• RECHARGINGInsert the charge plug from the charger (BC-' 4) i nto thereceptacle on the top of the transceiver. Then plug thecharger into the AC line. Do not allow the battery tocharge for greater than' 5 hours. The use for life andbattery performance will be reduced if you exceed therecommended charge period.(Ill ustrations show the U.S.A. version.)6NOTERecharging should be done within an ambienttemperature between SoC - 40 °C (41 ° F - 104 ° F).Reharging performed out of this range may not fullycharge the battery.• INSTALLING THE BATTERY PACKInsert the battery pack i nto the transceiver unt il it locksin place.To remove the battery pack slide the Release button andpull the pack .RELEASE button
