2BACKGroUND oPErATIoNSTIME-oUT TIMEr (ToT)The Time-out Timer prevents you from using a channel for anextended duration. If you continuously transmit for a presettime, the transceiver will stop transmitting and an alert tone willsound. Release the PTT switch.BATTEry SAvErWhen activated by your dealer, the Battery Saver functiondecreases the amount of power used after no signal is presentand no operations are being performed for seconds. When asignal is received or an operation is performed, Battery Saverturns off.Note: While the Battery Saver is operating, the LED may flashgreen when receiving a QT/DQT signal which does not match thetransceiver QT/DQT setting.BATTEry PowEr INDICATorThe battery power indicator displays the battery powerremaining, as illustrated below.High Sufficient Low Very Low(flashing)When the battery power is very low, replace or recharge thebattery pack. If activated by your dealer, an alert tone willsound every 30 seconds and the LED indicator will blink redwhen the battery power is low while transmitting.SIGNAl STrENGTH INDICATorThe signal strength indicator displays the strength of receivedcalls, as illustrated below.Strong Medium Weak Very Weak
