3PREPARATIONn Charging the Optional NiCd Battery PackThe optional battery pack is not charged at thefactory; charge it before use (refer to the batterypack instruction manual).uDO NOT RECHARGE THE BATTERY PACK IF IT ISALREADY FULLY CHARGED. DOING SO MAY CAUSE THELIFE OF THE BATTERY PACK TO SHORTEN OR THEBATTERY PACK MAY BE DAMAGED.uAFTER RECHARGING THE BATTERY PACK, DISCONNECTIT FROM THE CHARGER. IF THE CHARGER POWER ISRESET (TURNED ON AFTER BEING TURNED OFF),RECHARGING WILL START AGAIN AND THE BATTERYPACK WILL BECOME OVERCHARGED.Initially charging the battery pack after purchase orextended storage (greater than 2 months) will notbring the battery pack to its normal operatingcapacity. After repeating the charge/discharge cycletwo or three times, the operating capacity willincrease to normal.
