Before calling for service, check the following tableaccording to the symptom of your trouble.Unplug the power cord from the power outletthen, while holding the ENTER key depressed,plug the power cord again.÷ Please note that resetting the microcomputer clearsthe stored contents and returns to the factory setcondition.Operation to resetThe microcomputer may fall into malfunction (impos-sibility to operate, erroneous display, etc.) when thepower cord is unplugged while power is ON or due toan external factor. In this case, execute the followingprocedure to reset the microcomputer and return it tonormal condition.Sound is not produced.“STANDBY” and “TIMER”indicators blink alternatelyand no sound is output.Sound is not produced fromthe left or right speakers.“Dolby pro logic” and “Dolby3 stereo” cannot be selected.The clock display blinks.Timer operation is not pos-sible.Radio stations cannot be re-ceived.Sound from the DVD/VIDEO IN-PUT (external input) is distorted.÷ The speaker cords are disconnected.÷ The MUTE switch of remote controlunit is switched ON.÷ The headphone plug is inserted intothe jack.÷ The speaker cords are short-circuited.÷ The speaker cords are disconnected.÷ The left and right volumes are notbalanced.÷ The center speaker and surroundspeakers are set to “No”.÷ There was a power failure.÷ The power cord was unplugged fromthe outlet.÷ The present time has not been ad-justed or there was a power failure.÷ The timer program or the timer ON/OFF time has not been set properly.÷ The antennas have not been con-nected.÷ A proper broadcasting band has notbeen selected.÷ The frequency of the station to bereceived is not tuned.÷ The input level is too high.÷ Connect properly referring to “Sys-tem connection”.÷ Switch MUTE OFF.÷ Unplug the headphone plug.÷ Turn the power OFF, remove the short-circuit and turn the power ON again.÷ Connect properly referring to “Sys-tem connection”.÷ Adjust the left and right volume bal-ance.÷ Perform the center speaker and surroundspeaker setting operations properly.÷ Adjust the present time again.÷ Adjust the present time again.÷ Adjust the present time referring to“Clock adjustment”.÷ Check the timer program and set its ON/OFF time properly.
