You mustfollow these to ensure safe operation and tomaintain the instrument in safe condition.GeneralThis product is a Safety Class 1 instrument(provided with a protective earth terminal).Theprotective features of this product may beimpaired if it is used in a manner not specified inthe operation instructions.All Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) used in thisproduct are Class 1 LEDs as per IEC 60825-1.This instrument is intended for indoor use in aninstallation category II, pollution degree2 environment. It is designed to operate at amaximum relative humidity of 95% and at altitudesof up to 2000 meters.Refer to the specifications tables for the ac mainsvoltage requirements and ambient operatingtemperature range.Environmental ConditionsBefore Applying PowerVerify that all safety precautions are taken.The power cable inlet of the instrumentserves as a device to disconnect fromthemains in case of hazard.The instrument must be positioned so thatthe operator can easily access the powercable inlet. When the instrument is rack-mounted the rack must be provided withan easily accessible mains switch.General operation advises the mains supplyvoltage fluctuations are not to exceed 10%of nominal supply voltageTo minimize shock hazard, the instrument chassisand cover must be connected to an electricalprotective earth ground. The instrument must beconnected to the ac power mains through agrounded power cable, with the ground wire firmlyconnected to an electrical ground (safety ground)at the power outlet. Any interruption of theprotective (grounding) conductor or disconnectionof the protective earth terminal will cause apotential shock hazard that could result inpersonal injury.Ground the InstrumentDo Not Operate in an Explosive AtmosphereDo not operate the instrument in the presence offlammable gases or fumes. |
