For anoverview on programming instructions via USB, refer to the Connectivity Guide.Connecting over LANThe J7201A/B/C has two LAN operating modes:– Auto mode– Manual modeSelecting the LAN network typeYou can connect and configure your J7201A/B/C for site LAN or isolated (non-site) LAN operation.– A Site LAN network is defined as a local area network (LAN) in which computers and LAN-enabled instruments are connected to a site LAN (workgroup LAN, Intranet, or enterprise LAN)via optional routers, hubs, and/or switches.– A Isolated LAN network is defined as a local area network (LAN) in which computers and LAN-enabled instruments are NOT connected to site LAN.Auto modeThis mode is used when you are connecting J7201A/B/C via site LAN. In auto mode, the IPaddress, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway values are obtained from the DHCP server orautomatically assigned and the values can not be configured from the front panel.1 Firstly, connect your computer and J7201A/B/C to LAN outlets using standard LAN cable.2 Make sure power is applied to your computer and verify that the operating system is fullybooted.3 Apply power to J7201A/B/C and background LED color turns red, indicating standby mode.4 Press once on the ON button and LED color turns from red to green.5 After several minutes, LAN indicator will turns green which means LAN connection isestablished.6 Then, the LCD screen displays 6 submenus.To prepare J7201A/B/C for auto modeSelect J7201A/B/C for auto mode1 IP Config is set default as Auto.
