Installation 2Keysight N6700 User’s Guide 27Power Module InstallationNOTE The information in this section applies if you have purchased an N6700mainframe without the power modules installed, or if you are adding a powermodule to the mainframe.CAUTION Turn the mainframe off and disconnect the power cord before installing orremoving power modules. Observe all standard electrostatic dischargeprecautions before handling electronic components.Modules must be installed next to one another, starting with slot 1. Do not leaveany empty slots between modules, otherwise the power system will not operate.Any remaining unused slots must have a filler module installed to ensure propercooling. Do not install filler modules between power modules.Tools required: T10 Torx driver;Small flat-blade screwdriverFirmware Note: Newer power modules can only be installed in N6700mainframes with the latest firmware. Refer to the “Updates” section inthe front of this manual for more information. If your mainframe has thelatest firmware version, install the power module. If not, download andinstall the latest version firmware from the web.Step 1. Remove the blower cover. Remove the screws from the top and sides ofthe blower cover. Tilt the cover up and slide it out.Step 2. To install a power module, align the module over the pins and push itdown onto the mainframe connector.
