The height of an obstacle symbol corresponds to the heightof the obstacle, but the horizontal dimensions of the obstacle symbolcorrespond to an obstacle 150 ft wide by 150 ft deep regardless of theactual horizontal dimensions of the obstacle.Only obstacles with heights greater than or equal to 200 ft are displayed.When an obstacle generates an obstacle alert, the correspondingsynthetic vision obstacle symbol will be colored amber for a cautionalert or red for a warning alert. See Figure 3-20.Synthetic Vision provides situational awareness to thepilot by providing a means to aid in visually acquiringpotential impact threats of terrain and obstacles, however,the database may not contain all obstacles; therefore,be aware that obstacles may be approached that arenot shown on the synthetic vision display.
