DANGERBefore making adjustments or performing maintenance onyour mower, disengage PTO, shut off tractor and wait for allmoving parts to stop before dismounting tractor. Disconnectthe PTO driveline.! CAUTIONBlock decks up before making cutting height adjustments. These adjustments should be made with mowerhooked-up to the tractor that will be used for fieldoperations or one having the same drawbar height.Position mower on a level surface and adjust hitch so thatthe main frame is level to the ground. Tire pressure willaffect mowing height. Be sure all tires have proper psipressure. See “Tire Inflation Chart” on page 42.IMPORTANT: Refer to “U-Joint Timing” and“Transporting” on page 17 for instructions onraising and lowering the decks before continuing.Refer to Figure 3-1:1. Lower mower decks fully down on a flat level surface.2. Make measurement (A) (top of deck to ground) on allthree decks. Check measurements in Cutting HeightChart to determine if the decks need to raised orlowered to obtain preferred cutting height (B).3. Raise all three mower decks up to an adequateheight and block under the decks to prevent themfrom falling during gauge wheel height adjustments.Refer to Figure 3-2:4. Add or remove spacers below the spindle tubesequal to the number of inches the gauge wheelneeds to be adjusted. Adding spacers will raise thecutting height and removing spacers will lower thecutting height. When finished, all 10 gauge wheelswill usually have an equal number of spacers belowthe spindle tubes. See note below.NOTE: Due to manufacturing tolerances and tiresize differences, it may be necessary to readjustsome spacers. Because of this, you may not end upwith equal number of spacers on all gauge wheels.
