CAUTIONBEFORE any maintenance is performed, lower the PoweredRake to the ground, stop tractor engine and remove ignitionkey. DO NOT make maintenance adjustments while tractor isrunning.1. Check chain tension by removing 1/4” x 5/8” hexbolts (#4), lockwashers (#9) and access cover (#2)from the chain case.2. Inspect chain for tightness and excess wear.Replace worn out chains. See “Sprocket and DriveChain Replacement” page 16.3. Tension a loose chain by turning the take-up bolt (#5)clockwise. Don’t over tension. See note below..4. Turn tension roller several turns and observe thechain to make sure everything is working properly.5. Apply 1/8” bead of Land Pride No. 821-049C sealanton the surface of the main cover (#1) in locationwhere the access cover (#2) contacts the main cover(#1). Reinstall access cover (#2) and secure withlockwashers (#9) and 1/4”-20 x 5/8” GR5 hex bolts(#4). Torque hex bolts to correct torque.Drive Chain AdjustmentFigure 3-4NOTE: Do not over tension roller chain. Roller chainshould be tightened with a slight amount of slack. Achain tensioned too tight will increase sprocket andchain wear.21097End PlatesRefer to Figure 3-5:End plates (#1) & (#2) are utilized to collect rocks anddebris in front of the roller for the purpose of distributingmaterial over low areas. They can be removed andstored on the right hand side of the rake by removing thelinch pins (#3) containing the plates and reposition theplates on top side of the right end of the rake as shownbelow.
