With careful and systematicinspection, you can avoid costly maintenance, time andrepair.After using your Powered Rake for several hours, checkall bolts to be sure they are tight. Replace any worn,damaged or illegible safety labels by obtaining newlabels from your Land Pride Dealer.! CAUTIONBEFORE any maintenance is performed, lower the PoweredRake to the ground, stop tractor engine and remove ignitionkey. DO NOT attempt to make maintenance adjustments whiletractor is running.Drive Chain MaintenanceThe operator should check chain tightness after initialrun in and periodically thereafter to make sure that thedrive chain is tensioned correctly. If adjustment isneeded refer to “Drive Chain Adjustment” on page 15.Sprocket and Chain ReplacementRefer to Figure 4-1:1. Remove 1/4” x 1 1/4” and 1/4” x 1 1/2” hex socket capscrews (#6 & #7).l2. Remove main cover plate (#1).3. Loosen chain tension by turning chain tension take-up bolt (#5) counterclockwise.4. Remove nuts (#8) retaining sprockets (#10).5. Remove sprockets (#10) and chain (#11).6. Install new chain and sprockets.7. Reinstall sprocket retaining nuts (#8) and properlytorque.8. Tension idler roller by tightening take-up bolt (#5).See “Drive Chain Adjustment” on page 15 fordetailed chain take-up instructions.9. Turn tension roller several turns and observe rollerchain to make sure everything is working properly.10. Apply 1/8” bead of Land Pride No. 821-049C sealanton the chain case edge where cover plate (#1)contacts the chain case. Reinstall cover plate with1/4” -20 x 1 1/4” GR2 and 1/4” -20 x 1 1/2” GR2 hexsocket cap screws (#6 & #7). Tighten cap screws tothe correct torque.IMPORTANT: If chaincase and/or sprocket shaftsare disassembled, it may be necessary to shimbetween the chaincase and frame tube duringreassembly to properly realign the sprocket shafts.Shim Pack 314-254A may be purchased from yournearest Land Pride Dealer for this purpose.NOTE: Oil in chain case! Be prepared to capture oilwhen taking off bottom cover.
