39English6. Post-Processing SurveyingReminder on Surveying TechniquesStaticTypical Use: Surveying a New Control Point.Key Instructions:1. Two units needed: one (the base) operated on an accurately knownposition and the other (the rover) on the point to be surveyed. Therecan be several rovers logging data at the same time.2. Approximate distance between the two units (baseline) must beknown.3. Data must be collected simultaneously by the two units. Use thesame logging interval on both units.4. Observation time is determined by last unit set up (start) and first unitturned off (end). We recommend that you start the base first and youturn it off last.5. Required observation time mainly depends on distance between thetwo units (+ reception conditions). Rover unit estimates observationtime needed. When Obs. Range on screen is equal to or greater than the baseline, you can stop collecting data.Make sure the base is sitedin a clear area giving thebest possible view of thesky! When this is possible, avoid trees, buildings orany high obstacles in thevicinity of the base.Having a clear view of thesky will allow the base tocollect data from a maxi-mum of visible satellites, which is highly recom-mended to perform a suc-cessful, accurate and fastsurvey.Data collected on surveyed point:BaseBaseline(Range)Observation timeData collected at base:Time OrganizationEquipment Involved -Field OrganizationKnown Point Survey PointRover
