Straight line or orbital cutting action IConventional jig saws cut with a straightline action, that is, the blade moves onlyup and down in a straight line. Your sawalso cuts in this manner but, for softerworkpieces, an orbital cutting action canbe selected. Soft workpieces like wood andplastic permit deep penetration of indivi-dual saw teeth. The orbital action thruststhe blade forward on the cutting strokeand greatly increases cutting speed overconventional jig saws. Harder workpieceslike metal should be cut using the straightline cutting action or a very low orbitalsetting. To select straight line or orbitalcutting, adjust the number on the saw.\LeverPosition 0 - For cutting in mild steel, stainless steel and plastics. For clean cuts in wood and plywood.Position I - For cutting in mild steel, aluminum and hard wood.Position I1 - For cutting in wood and plywood. For fast cutting in aluminum and mild steel.Position I11 - For fast cutting in wood and plywood.Switch actionTo start the tool, simply pull the trigger.Release the trigger to stop.
