Before using battery charger, read all instruc-tions and cautionary markings on (1) batterycharger, (2) battery, and (3) product using bat-tery.3. CAUTION — To reduce risk of injury, charge onlyMAKITA type rechargeable batteries. Other typesof batteries may burst causing personal injuryand damage.4. Do not expose charger to rain or snow.5. Use of an attachment not recommended or soldby the battery charger manufacturer may resultin a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to per-sons.6. To reduce risk of damage to electric plug andcord, pull by plug rather than cord when discon-necting charger.7. Make sure cord is located so that it will not bestepped on, tripped over, or otherwise subjectedto damage or stress.8. Do not operate charger with damaged cord orplug — replace them immediately.9. Do not operate charger if it has received a sharpblow, been dropped, or otherwise damaged inany way; take it to a qualified serviceman.10. Do not disassemble charger or battery cartridge;take it to a qualified serviceman when service orrepair is required. Incorrect reassembly mayresult in a risk of electric shock or fire.11. To reduce risk of electric shock, unplug chargerfrom outlet before attempting any maintenanceor cleaning. Turning off controls will not reducethis risk.12. The battery charger is not intended for use byyoung children or infirm persons without super-vision.13. Young children should be supervised to ensurethat they do not play with the battery charger.14. If operating time has become excessivelyshorter, stop operating immediately. It mayresult in a risk of overheating, possible burnsand even an explosion.15. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse them outwith clear water and seek medical attention rightaway. It may result in loss of your eyesight.ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FORCHARGER & BATTERY CARTRIDGE1. Do not charge battery cartridge when tempera-ture is BELOW 10°C (50°F) or ABOVE 40°C(104°F).2. Do not attempt to use a step-up transformer, anengine generator or DC power receptacle.3. Do not allow anything to cover or clog thecharger vents.4. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1) Do not touch the terminals with any conduc-tive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a containerwith other metal objects such as nails, coins,etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to water orrain.A battery short can cause a large current flow,overheating, possible burns and even a break-down.5. Do not store the tool and battery cartridge inlocations where the temperature may reach orexceed 50°C (122°F).6. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even if itis severely damaged or is completely worn out.The battery cartridge can explode in a fire.7. Be careful not to drop, shake or strike battery.8. Do not charge inside a box or container of anykind. The battery must be placed in a well venti-lated area during charging.ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR TOOLENB041-21. Be aware that this tool is always in an operatingcondition, because it does not have to beplugged into an electrical outlet.2. Wear eye protection.3. Keep hands out of path of saw blade. Avoid con-tact with any coasting blade. It can still causesevere injury.4. Do not operate saw without guards in place.Check blade guard for proper closing beforeeach use. Do not operate saw if blade guarddoes not move freely and close instantly. Neverclamp or tie the blade guard into the open posi-tion.5. Do not perform any operation freehand. Theworkpiece must be secured firmly against theturn base and guide fence with the vise duringall operations. Never use your hand to securethe workpiece.6. Never reach around saw blade.7. Turn off tool and wait for saw blade to stopbefore moving workpiece or changing settings.8. Remove battery from tool before chaging bladeor servicing.9. Don’t use the tool in the presence of flammableliquids or gases.10. Check the blade carefully for cracks or damagebefore operation. Replace cracked or damagedblade immediately.11. Use only flanges specified for this tool.12. Be careful not to damage the arbor, flanges(especially the installing surface) or bolt. Dam-age to these parts could result in blade break-age.13. Make sure that the turn base is properly securedso it will not move during operation.14. For your safety, remove the chips, small pieces,etc. from the table top before operation.15. Avoid cutting nails. Inspect for and remove allnails from the workpiece before operation.16. Make sure the shaft lock is released before theswitch is turned on. |
