9 ENGLISHNOTE: When all lamps on the switch panel go out, the tool is turned off to save the battery power. The impact forcegrade can be checked by pulling the switch trigger to the extent that the tool does not operate.NOTE: While pulling the switch trigger, the impact force grade cannot be changed.ASSEMBLYCAUTION: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore carrying out any work on the tool.Installing or removing driver bit/socket bitŹ Fig.9Use only driver bit/socket bit that has inserting portionshown in the igure. Do not use any other driver bit/socket bit.For tool with shallow driver bit holeA=12mmB=9mmUse only these type of driverbit. Follow the procedure1. (Note) Bit-piece is notnecessary. For tool with deep driver bit holeA=17mmB=14mmTo install these types of driverbits, follow the procedure 1.A=12mmB=9mmTo install these types of driverbits, follow the procedure 2.(Note) Bit-piece is necessaryfor installing the bit.Procedure 1For tool without one-touch type sleeveŹ Fig.10: 1. Driver bit 2. SleeveTo install the driver bit, pull the sleeve in the direction ofthe arrow and insert the driver bit into the sleeve as faras it will go.Then release the sleeve to secure the driver bit.For tool with one-touch type sleeveTo install the driver bit, insert the driver bit into thesleeve as far as it will go.Procedure 2In addition to Procedure 1, insert the bit-piece into thesleeve with its pointed end facing in.Ź Fig.11: 1. Driver bit 2. Bit-piece 3. SleeveTo remove the driver bit, pull the sleeve in the directionof the arrow and pull the driver bit out.NOTE: If the driver bit is not inserted deep enoughinto the sleeve, the sleeve will not return to its originalposition and the driver bit will not be secured. In thiscase, try re-inserting the bit according to the instruc-tions above.NOTE: When it is dificult to insert the driver bit, pullthe sleeve and insert it into the sleeve as far as it willgo.NOTE: After inserting the driver bit, make sure that itis irmly secured. If it comes out, do not use it.Installing hookŹ Fig.12: 1. Groove 2. Hook 3. ScrewThe hook is convenient for temporarily hanging the tool. This can be installed on either side of the tool. To installthe hook, insert it into a groove in the tool housing oneither side and then secure it with a screw. To remove, loosen the screw and then take it out.OPERATIONŹ Fig.13The proper fastening torque may differ depending uponthe kind or size of the screw/bolt, the material of theworkpiece to be fastened, etc. The relation between fas-tening torque and fastening time is shown in the igures.Proper fastening torque for standard boltŹ Fig.14: 1. Fastening time (second) 2. FasteningtorqueProper fastening torque for high tensile boltŹ Fig.15: 1. Fastening time (second) 2. FasteningtorqueHold the tool irmly and place the point of the driver bitin the screw head. Apply forward pressure to the tool tothe extent that the bit will not slip off the screw and turnthe tool on to start operation.NOTICE: If you use a spare battery to continuethe operation, rest the tool at least 15 min.NOTE: Use the proper bit for the head of the screw/bolt that you wish to use.NOTE: When fastening M8 or smaller screw, carefullyadjust pressure on the switch trigger so that the screwis not damaged.NOTE: Hold the tool pointed straight at the screw.NOTE: If the impact force is too strong or you tightenthe screw for a time longer than shown in the igures, the screw or the point of the driver bit may be over-stressed, stripped, damaged, etc. Before starting yourjob, always perform a test operation to determine theproper fastening time for your screw.
