14 ENGLISHCutting operationCAUTION: Wear dust mask when performingcutting operation.CAUTION: Be sure to move the tool forwardin a straight line gently. Forcing or twisting the toolwill result in overheating the motor and dangerouskickback, possibly causing severe injury.NOTE: When the battery cartridge temperature islow, the tool may not work to its full capacity. At thistime, for example, use the tool for a light-duty cut fora while until the battery cartridge warms up as highas room temperature. Then, the tool can work to itsfull capacity.Hold the tool firmly. The tool is provided with both a frontgrip and rear handle. Use both to best grasp the tool.If both hands are holding saw, they cannot be cut bythe circular saw blade. Set the base on the workpieceto be cut without the circular saw blade making anycontact. Then turn the tool on and wait until the circularsaw blade attains full speed. Now simply move the toolforward over the workpiece surface, keeping it flat andadvancing smoothly until the sawing is completed.To get clean cuts, keep your sawing line straight andyour speed of advance uniform. If the cut fails to prop-erly follow your intended cut line, do not attempt to turnor force the tool back to the cut line. Doing so may bindthe circular saw blade and lead to dangerous kickbackand possible serious injury. Release switch, wait for cir-cular saw blade to stop and then withdraw tool. Realigntool on new cut line, and start cut again. Attempt toavoid positioning which exposes operator to chips andwood dust being ejected from saw. Use eye protectionto help avoid injury.Rip fence (Guide rule)CAUTION: Make sure that the rip fence issecurely installed in the correct position beforeuse. Improper attachment may cause dangerouskickback.12► 1. Rip fence (Guide rule) 2. Clamping screwThe handy rip fence allows you to do extra-accuratestraight cuts. Simply slide the rip fence up snuglyagainst the side of the workpiece and secure it in posi-tion with the clamping screw on the front of the base. Italso makes repeated cuts of uniform width possible.Guide railOptional accessoryPlace the tool on the rear end of guide rail. Turn twoadjusting screws on the tool base so that the tool slidessmoothly without a clatter. Hold both the front grip andrear handle of the tool firmly. Turn on the tool and cutthe splinter-guard along the full length with a stroke.Now the edge of the splinter-guard corresponds to thecutting edge.1► 1. Adjusting screwsWhen bevel cutting with the guide rail, use the slidelever to prevent the tool from falling over.Move the slide lever on the tool base in the directionof arrow so that it engages the undercut groove in theguide rail.
