4 ENGLISH3. Follow instruction for lubricating and chang-ing accessories.4. Do not modify or attempt to repair the appli-ance or the battery pack except as indicated inthe instructions for use and care.Cordless circular saw safetywarningsCutting procedures1. DANGER: Keep hands away from cutting areaand the blade. Keep your second hand on auxiliaryhandle, or motor housing. If both hands are holdingthe saw, they cannot be cut by the blade.2. Do not reach underneath the workpiece. Theguard cannot protect you from the blade below theworkpiece.3. Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness ofthe workpiece. Less than a full tooth of the bladeteeth should be visible below the workpiece.4. Never hold the workpiece in your hands oracross your leg while cutting. Secure theworkpiece to a stable platform. It is important tosupport the work properly to minimise body expo-sure, blade binding, or loss of control.5. Hold the power tool by insulated grippingsurfaces, when performing an operation wherethe cutting tool may contact hidden wiring.Contact with a "live" wire will also make exposedmetal parts of the power tool "live" and could givethe operator an electric shock.6. When ripping, always use a rip fence orstraight edge guide. This improves the accuracyof cut and reduces the chance of blade binding.7. Always use blades with correct size and shape(diamond versus round) of arbour holes. Blades thatdo not match the mounting hardware of the saw will runoff-centre, causing loss of control.8. Never use damaged or incorrect blade wash-ers or bolt. The blade washers and bolt werespecially designed for your saw, for optimumperformance and safety of operation.Kickback causes and related warnings— kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, jammed or misaligned saw blade, causing anuncontrolled saw to lift up and out of the workpiecetoward the operator;— when the blade is pinched or jammed tightly by the kerfclosing down, the blade stalls and the motor reactiondrives the unit rapidly back toward the operator;— if the blade becomes twisted or misaligned in the cut,the teeth at the back edge of the blade can dig into thetop surface of the wood causing the blade to climb outof the kerf and jump back toward the operator.Kickback is the result of saw misuse and/or incorrectoperating procedures or conditions and can be avoidedby taking proper precautions as given below.1. Maintain a firm grip with both hands on thesaw and position your arms to resist kickbackforces. Position your body to either side of theblade, but not in line with the blade. Kickbackcould cause the saw to jump backwards, butkickback forces can be controlled by the operator,if proper precautions are taken.2. When blade is binding, or when interrupting acut for any reason, release the trigger and holdthe saw motionless in the material until theblade comes to a complete stop. Never attemptto remove the saw from the work or pull thesaw backward while the blade is in motionor kickback may occur. Investigate and takecorrective actions to eliminate the cause of bladebinding.3. When restarting a saw in the workpiece, centrethe saw blade in the kerf so that the saw teethare not engaged into the material. If a saw bladebinds, it may walk up or kickback from the work-piece as the saw is restarted.4. Support large panels to minimise the risk ofblade pinching and kickback. Large panels tendto sag under their own weight. Supports must beplaced under the panel on both sides, near the lineof cut and near the edge of the panel.5. Do not use dull or damaged blades.Unsharpened or improperly set blades producenarrow kerf causing excessive friction, bladebinding and kickback. |
