This function also may not beavailable depending on the type of the material.NOTE: This function will not work if the switch triggeris not pulled enough to increase the speed, even ifthe speed adjusting dial is set to "3" or higher.NOTE: If the speed does not decrease after cuttingthe workpiece, turn off the tool and then turn on itagain.Disabling or enabling the soft no-loadrotation functionTo disable or enable the soft no-load rotation function,follow the steps below.1. Make sure that the tool is turned off.2. Set the speed adjusting dial to "1".3. Press the lock switch to turn on the tool.4. Turn the speed adjusting dial to "6", and then set itback to "1".The lamp blinks twice when the soft no-load rotationfunction is disabled or enabled. To enable or disable thisfunction again, perform the same procedure again.NOTE: If the soft no-load rotation function is disabled,the lamp blinks twice when the tool is turned on.NOTE: You can also disable or enable the softno-load rotation function by changing the speedadjusting dial to "6" - "1" - "6".Electric brakeThis tool is equipped with an electric brake. If the toolconsistently fails to quickly stop after the switch triggeris released, have the tool serviced at a Makita servicecenter.ASSEMBLYCAUTION: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore carrying out any work on the tool.Installing or removing jig saw bladeCAUTION: Always clean out all chips or for-eign matter adhering to the jig saw blade and/orblade holder. Failure to do so may cause insufficienttightening of the jig saw blade, resulting in a seriouspersonal injury.CAUTION: Do not touch the jig saw blade orthe workpiece immediately after operation. Theymay be extremely hot and could burn your skin.CAUTION: Always secure the jig saw bladefirmly. Insufficient tightening of the jig saw blade maycause the blade breakage or serious personal injury.CAUTION: When you remove the jig sawblade, be careful not to hurt your fingers with thetop of the jig saw blade or the tips of workpiece.Before installing the jig saw blade, make sure that thejig saw blade clamp lever is in the released position.To install the jig saw blade, insert the jig saw blade(teeth facing forward) into the jig saw blade holder untilit latches. The jig saw blade clamp lever moves to thefixed position by itself and the jig saw blade is locked.Make sure that the back edge of the jig saw blade fitsinto the roller.
