Secure the workpiece firmly.3. Keep your face and hands away from movingparts. During cutting, the fraction of the threadedrod may fly off.4. Always wear gloves when handling threadedrods. Edges and chips of the workpiece are sharp.5. Do not put the tool on the chips of the work-piece. Otherwise it can cause damage andtrouble on the tool.6. Always be sure you have a firm footing. Besure no one is below when using the tool inhigh locations.7. Do not touch the cutting edge or the workpieceimmediately after operation; they may beextremely hot and could burn your skin.8. Avoid cutting electrical wires. It can causeserious accident by electric shock.9. Always hold the threaded rod during and aftercutting to prevent the cut threaded rod fromfalling off. A cut threaded rod may cause seriouspersonal injury if fallen off from a high location.10. Keep a safe distance between your body andthe moving parts. Do not operate the tool ifthe working area is too narrow to keep a safedistance.11. Before using battery cartridge, read all instruc-tions and cautionary markings on (1) batterycharger, (2) battery, and (3) product using battery.2. Do not disassemble battery cartridge.3. If operating time has become excessivelyshorter, stop operating immediately. It mayresult in a risk of overheating, possible burnsand even an explosion.4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse them outwith clear water and seek medical attention rightaway. It may result in loss of your eyesight.5. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1) Do not touch the terminals with any con-ductive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a con-tainer with other metal objects such asnails, coins, etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to wateror rain.A battery short can cause a large currentflow, overheating, possible burns and even abreakdown.6. Do not store the tool and battery cartridge inlocations where the temperature may reach orexceed 50 °C (122 °F).7. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even ifit is severely damaged or is completely wornout. The battery cartridge can explode in a fire.8. Be careful not to drop or strike battery.9. Do not use a damaged battery.10. The contained lithium-ion batteries are subject tothe Dangerous Goods Legislation requirements.For commercial transports e.g. by third parties,forwarding agents, special requirement on pack-aging and labeling must be observed.For preparation of the item being shipped, consult-ing an expert for hazardous material is required.Please also observe possibly more detailednational regulations.Tape or mask off open contacts and pack up thebattery in such a manner that it cannot movearound in the packaging.11. When disposing the battery cartridge, removeit from the tool and dispose of it in a safeplace. Follow your local regulations relating todisposal of battery.12. Use the batteries only with the productsspecified by Makita. Installing the batteries tonon-compliant products may result in a fire, exces-sive heat, explosion, or leak of electrolyte.13.
