Battery cartridgeTo remove the battery cartridge, slide it from the toolwhile sliding the button on the front of the cartridge.To install the battery cartridge, align the tongue on thebattery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slipit into place. Insert it all the way until it locks in placewith a little click. If you can see the red indicator on theupper side of the button, it is not locked completely.CAUTION: Always install the battery cartridgefully until the red indicator cannot be seen. If not,it may accidentally fall out of the tool, causing injury toyou or someone around you.CAUTION: Do not install the battery cartridgeforcibly. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, it isnot being inserted correctly.Tool / battery protection systemThe tool is equipped with a tool/battery protection sys-tem. This system automatically cuts off power to themotor to extend tool and battery life. The tool will auto-matically stop during operation if the tool or battery isplaced under one of the following conditions.Overload protectionWhen the tool is operated in a manner that causes it todraw an abnormally high current, the tool automaticallystops without any indication. In this situation, turn thetool off and stop the application that caused the tool tobecome overloaded. Then turn the tool on to restart.NOTE: Overload protection activates when you try tocut the following kinds of threaded rods.— A threaded rod which is larger than the cutting die size.— A threaded rod which is harder than the cuttingcapacity of the cutting dies.Overheat protectionWhen the tool is overheated, the tool automaticallystops and the LED light will blink. Let the tool cool downbefore turning the tool on again.Overdischarge protectionWhen the battery capacity becomes low, the tool stopsautomatically. If the product does not operate evenwhen the switches are operated, remove the batteriesfrom the tool and charge the batteries.Indicating the remaining battery capacityOnly for battery cartridges with the indicator12► 1.
