2-6Steering SystemIt is important that you get the “feel” of your Malibu boat’s steering system. Turn thewheel from full left to full right, and make sure the rudder is turning accordingly. Thesystem should operate freely and smoothly.Notice: It is normal for your Malibu steering to pull slightly to the rightunder normal driving conditions. The boat will pull straightwhile skier is under tow.Power TrimThis switch is located forward of the throttle. It is used to activate the trim/tilt function onthe Flightcraft Outboard boats. Push and hold the switch until the engine is at the desiredangle. Use this switch to maximize boat performance in the water. The tilt raises the drivefor trailering.Emergency Engine Stop SwitchThe emergency engine stop switch attaches to the driverof the boat and shuts down the engine if the driver of theboat is accidentally forced away from the helm.The switch consists of a helm-mounted switch plungerand a switch clip/lanyard clip, which is connectedbetween the stop clip and the operator. Should theoperator move away from the controls, the clip pulls free,releasing the plunger and stopping the engine.If the engine must be shut down quickly, a pull on thecord to release the clip from the switch will stop theengine.To reset the switch after activation, reinstall the switch clip.Notice: If lanyard switch is damaged or lost you can purchase a newswitch through your local marina or Malibu dealer.Bow Tonneau CoverThe tonneau cover is available on all walk-though open bow boats and is available as anoption on all other open bows. To install, begin at the bow of the boat attach snaps bysnapping cover to the deck of the boat. Work towards the windshield and walk-through.Close the door on the windshield and attach snaps to the door, to remove simply reverseprocedure.Figure 2-9. Stop Switch Lanyard
