EXTERIOR OPERATIONSYour new RV from Mandalay offers virtually all the comforts of home while out on the road. These systems areof the most modern design available, just as the similar systems in your home, however, the RV systems maybe of different design, and construction than those found in your home. The following instructions are for itemsthat your RV has to offer you. Some items are touched on briefly, for more detailed instructions on particularitems; see the manufacturer’s manual supplied with that item.ENTRY DOORThe entry door consists of both an exteriordoor and a screen door used for ventilationwhen the RV is parked. DO NOT attempt todrive the RV with the doors open. The doorsmay be damaged and it is a safety hazard.Your entry door is equipped with a movablelatch system. This is designed to keep thelatch from getting into a bind, if you areparked on an uneven surface, your coachcould become twisted. If this happens it ispossible that your door would be stuckclosed. This movable bolt will keep that fromhappening. It is important to always makesure that the latch is maintained andworking properly. The door has 2 lockingpositions; always make sure the door is completely shut before driving the motorhome. When the RV shiftselector is placed in Drive or Reverse the entry door will automatically engage the air lock mechanism. Thelock is a safety feature added to the door to improve the seal around the door. To disengage the lock, place theshift selector in Neutral and apply the parking brake. When driving, it is a good idea to keep the door locked to prevent uninvited entrance from the outside whenstopped. Two types of locks are provided with the outer door. The handle lock for normal security and a deadbolt lock for additional security. The screen door can be attached to the outer door. A sliding panel on the screen door permits access to thehandle on the outer door to prevent unnecessary handling of both doors. Separate keys are provided for bothtypes of door locks. It is a good idea to keep a record of the key numbers in a safe place, should it becomenecessary to have duplicates made.Mandalay 8-1MandalayMandalayMandalay
