If the error message "1701" is displayed onscreen an error in the fixed disk is indicated.This may be due to: fixed disk not connected,device defective, fixed disk c o ntrollerdefective or no power to device.6. If the computer now appears to be operatingproperly in all respects at full configuration(the power-on diagnostics have displayed noerror, the operating system is booted from thediskette, and the system prompt, A> (or other),is displayed), the procedure to recover from anonoperative condition has been completedsuccessfully.7. If the computer is still not functioningproperly, use either of the diskette-based setso f d i a g n o s t i c r o u t i n e s to a t t e m p tidentification of the problem.RESTORE FULL CONFIGURATIONTEST TOTAL MEMORY1. If the configuration switches indicating theamount of memory were set to the minimum 256 KB,raise the setting in minimum KB increments untilthe actual total amount of memory installed inthis computer is indicated. Retest after eachincremental setting to determine whether anyproblem exists with any specific bank of memory.If the amount of memory indicated on the screenas tested is less than the total amountinstalled, go to step 2.2-19
