VOICE MESSAGING SERVICECellular Digital Messaging Service (CDMS), if availablethrough the cellular service provider in the area, is a voicemessage service for the cellular customer. When a cellularcustomer turns off or does not answer the cellular phone, orwhen the customer is currently on a call, CDMS answers theincoming call. The caller is provided with the option to leavea voice mail message. The cellular phone user is notified ofmessages through a voice mail message indication.VOICE MAIL MESSAGE INDICATIONWhen an incoming caller leaves a message through thecellular provider's digital messaging service, the cellularphone user is notified by a voice mail message indication.The type of voice mail message notification varies betweencellular service providers. Upon receiving a voice mailmessage, the voice mail message indication is one of thefollowing: a phone beep and displayed “MAIL” indication, aphone beep without a displayed indication, or a series ofbeeps generated by the service provider and transmitted tothe phone user through the earpiece receiver when anoutgoing call is made. The displayed indication is shownbelow.If additional messages are received before the current voicemessage information is retrieved, the voice mail messagenumber in the displayed indicator increases.Voice messages can be retrieved from the messagingservice by following the service provider instructions for voicemessage retrieval.
