A prompt asks you to restartthe system after you add the disk.1. Make sure that the second disk (the one designated as the mirror) has no partitionsand that both of the disks you are pairing:• Have the same capacity, or if they have different capacities, that you add thedisk with the smaller capacity to the virtual disk before you add the disk withthe larger capacity• Are basic disks (not dynamic)If the disks have been configured as dynamic disks, see “Converting aDynamic Disk to a Basic Disk” on page 3-10, “Using RDR to Mirror DynamicSystem Disks” on page 3-11, or “Using RDR to Mirror Dynamic Data Disks” onpage 3-12.2. Insert and latch disks in corresponding slots in each enclosure of the system. SeeFigure 3-3.3. Start ftServer Management Console (ftSMC): Double-click ftServer ManagementTools on the Windows desktop.4. In ftSMC, select the target disk in I/O enclosure 10.For example, expand ftServer I/O Enclosures, I/O Enclosure - 10,Storage Enclosure - 40, Slot - 1, and then click Disk - 0.5. Right-click the target disk and click Add Physical Disk To RDR Virtual Disk.6. In the Device Configuration Change message box, click Yes.7. Repeat steps 4 – 6 on the corresponding disk in I/O enclosure 11. For example,expand ftServer I/O Enclosures, I/O Enclosure - 11, Storage Enclosure - 40,Slot - 1, and then click Disk - 1.8. Allow time for the two disks to synchronize.
