OPERATIONThis section describes how to select a computer or video source, ad-just the picture and sound, edit a signal and adjust all other settingsand adjustments for proper projector set-up.General ControlsBefore you turn on the projector ensure that the computer or videosource is turned on and that the lens hood cap is removed.1. Turn on the ProjectorPlug the supplied power cable in the wall outlet. The projectorwill go into its standby mode and the power indicator will gloworange.Only after you press the "POWER ON" button on the remote con-trol ("ON/ STAND BY" button on the projector cabinet) will thepower indicator turn to green and the projector become ready touse.NOTE: To turn the projector on by plugging in the power cable, use themenu and enable the "Auto Start" feature. (See page E-48.)2. Select The Computer Or Video SourcePress one of the Source buttons on the remote control to select thedesired source. Or press the MENU button on the remote controland use the Source Select to select your video source: Video, S-Video, RGB, PC Card Viewer, DVI Digital or DVI Analog.3. Adjust The ImagePress the ADJUST PICTURE button on the remote control or usethe menu to adjust the picture.4. Turn Off The ProjectorFirst press the "POWER OFF" button on the remote control ("ON/STAND BY" button on the projector cabinet) for a minimum oftwo seconds. The power indicator will glow orange. Then, unplugthe power cable. The power indicator will go out.IMPORTANT:• The projector should be unplugged if it will not be used for an extendedperiod.• If you want to turn off the image briefly (five minutes or less), press theMUTE PICTURE button instead of turning the projector off and on.• The projector will display a black, blue image or logo if no input signal ispresent.• Do not turn the projector off and then immediately back on. The Projectorneeds to cool down for ONE minute before it is powered on again.CAUTION: Do not connect the power cable while the cooling fan is running.Using the MenusNOTE: The on-screen menu may not be displayed correctly while interlacedmotion video image is projected.1. Press the "Menu" button on the remote control or projector cabi-net to display the menu.2. Press the st buttons on the remote control or the projector cabi-net to highlight the menu for the item you want to adjust or set.3. Press the © button or the "Enter" button on the projector cabinetor the remote control to select a submenu or item.NOTE: The right-oriented delta symbol indicates further choices are avail-able.4. Adjust the level or turn the selected item on or off by using "Se-lect" ß or © buttons on the remote control or the cabinet. The on-screen slide bar will show you the amount of increase or decrease.5. Changes are stored until you adjust it again.ENTER ......... Stores the setting or adjustments.CANCEL ....... Return to the previous screen without storing settings oradjustments.NOTE: The change is stored automatically when any one of the following pro-cedures is performed:* The on-screen dissapears.* The projector goes into standby.* One input is switched to another.6. Repeat steps 2-5 to adjust an additional item, or press "Cancel"on the projector cabinet or the remote control to quit the menudisplay.Using the Magnifying Glass IconWhen the image is magnified with the MAGNIFY button on the remotecontrol, pressing CTL and any one of ß, ©, s or t will display themagnifying glass icon.At this time you can select any part of the screen and expand it.To move the magnifying glass icon, use ß, ©, s or t.Press CTL and any one of ß, ©, s or t again and the manifying glassicon will disappear.
