Installing the Operating System with Express Setup 5-7About the System Partition SizeThe system partition size can be calculated from the following formula.Size necessary to install the system + Paging File Size + Dump File Size+ Application SizeSize necessary to install the system = 3500MB (Windows Server 2003 R2)= 3500MB (Windows Server 2003 with ServicePack1)= 3500MB (Windows Server 2003 R2 with ServicePack2)= 5300MB (Windows Server 2003 R2 + ServicePack2 CD-ROM)= 5300MB (Windows Server 2003 with Service 1 +ServicePack 2 CD-ROM)Paging File Size (Recommended) = Mounted Memory Size * 1.5Dump File Size = Mounted Memory Size + 12MBApplication Size = Required SizeIMPORTANT: The above-mentioned paging file size is recommended forcollecting debug information (memory dump). The paging filewith initial size large enough to store the dump file in the bootdrive is required.Correct debug information might not be able to be collected due tovirtual memory shortage when the paging file is insufficient, so setan enough size of the paging file with the entire system. The maximum paging file size which can be set on one partition is4095MB. If the above paging file size exceeds 4095MB, specify4095MB for the paging file size. The maximum dump file size for the system with more than 2GBmemory mounted is '2048MB + 12MB'. If you install any application program or the like, add necessaryspace to the partition to install these programs. For example, if the mounted memory size is 512MB, the partition size will be calculated by theabove formula as follows:3500MB + (512MB * 1.5) + (512MB + 12MB) + Application Size= 4792MB + Application Size
