2-32 Setup and OperationExit MenuSelecting “Exit” from the menu bar displays the following exit options. Save Changes & Exit Discard Changes & Exit Get Default Values Load Previous Values Save Changes.The following subsections describe each of the options on the Exit Menu.NOTE: Esc does not exit the Setup Utilitymenu. Select one of the items from the exit menuor menu bar to exit.Save Changes & ExitAfter making the selections on the Setup menus, always select Save Changes to Non-Volatile RAM (NVRAM) to make them operative.Unlike standard RAM memory, NVRAM is sustained by an onboard battery and stays onwhen the system is turned off.After saving the selections, the program displays this message:Values have been saved to CMOSPress to continue]If an attempt is made to exit without saving, Setup asks if the changes should be savedbefore exiting.During bootup, Setup attempts to load the values saved in NVRAM. If the values saved inNVRAM cause the system boot to fail, reboot and press F2 to enter Setup. In Setup, theROM default values (as described below) can be loaded or the values can be changed thatcaused the boot to fail.Discard Changes & ExitUse this option to exit Setup without recording any changes.
