EXPRESSSCOPE ENGINE 33.1 OverviewEXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3 provides a variety of features using BMC (Baseboard Management Controller),which is a system management LSI.EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3 monitors the power unit, fans, temperature, and voltage of the server. If you havethe management LAN port connected to the network, you can remotely perform the following over a webbrowser or SSH client:• Manage the server• Remotely control the keyboard, video, and mouse (KVM)*• Remotely access a CD/DVD/floppy disk/ISO image/USB memory*.* To enable this feature, the optional license for remote management (N8115-04) is required.3.2 EXPRESSSCOPE ENGINE 3 Network configurationTo enable EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3 to be used via network, network configuration is required. Below is anexample of the configuration procedure which enables EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3 to be used via a webbrowser.1. Run POST following Chapter 3 (1.1.1 POST sequence). Wait until the following message appears onthe lower left of the screen.Press SETUP, Internal Flash Memory, ROM Utility, Network2. If you press the key at this time, ROM utility starts upon completion of POST. You can also pressthe key while the NEC logo is being displayed to open the Off-line TOOL MENU screen.3.
