User Guide148www.nec-computers.comCabling IDE DevicesThe IDE CableDepending on your configuration, your system may come with two three-connectorIDE interface cables, one joining your tape drive to the primary IDE connector on thesystem board, the other joining your CD or DVD-ROM drive to the secondary IDEconnector on the system board.Each IDE connector on the motherboard supports two devices.The addition of a device to an IDE connector does not require the replacement of theexisting IDE cable.The following figure shows a typical three-connector IDE cable.
