Issue 7.0 UNIVERGE SV81004 - 6 Installing the SV8100 BladesThe system automatically recognizes each blade installed in thesystem. If a blade has previously been installed in a slot and anothertype of blade is to be installed in that same slot, the blade must firstbe removed from the chassis and then the slot definition removedusing Program 90-05 prior to installing the new blade. This same condition applies to extensions and other devicesconnected to the system. For example, if a port was previously usedfor a telephone and a DSS Console is to be installed in that sameport, it must first be undefined in Program 10-03 before the consoleis connected.2.2.3 Order of Installing Trunk Blades2.2.3.1 Installing CD-4COTA, CD-4DIOPB, CD-4ODTB orCD-2BRIA bladesThe order in which trunk blades are physically inserteddetermines the numbering plan.Table 4-2 Adding Daughter Board to Chassis ExampleInitial Blade Updated BladeBladeSlot # Blade ExtensionNumbersBladeSlot # Blade ExtensionNumbers1 CD-16DLCA 200~215 1 CD-16DLCA 200~2152 CD-8DLCA(no daughterboard)216~223 2 — —3 CD-16DLCA 224~239 3 CD-16DLCA 224~239— — — 4 CD-8DLCA(with daughterboard)240~255To avoid unexpected extension/trunknumbering if the VoIP or Voice Mailboard registers with the system first, install these boards after the other typesof extension and trunk blades have beeninstalled.
