Issue 2.0 UNIVERGE SV81004 - 90 Installing the SV8100 Blades Four analog 4-circuit tie line interfaces Two Blade status LEDs Two straps and one switch per circuit to determine the circuit typeRefer to the following tables for maximum upgrade capacities of theCD-4ODTA blade: Table 2-6 SV8100 Maximum 9.5” Gateway and 19” System Capacities– Blades on page 2-13 Table 2-7 SV8100 Maximum 9.5” Base and Expansion SystemCapacities – Blades on page 2-155.7.2 Installation1. Set the straps for either the 2-wire or 4-wire. Refer to Figure4-34 CD-4ODTA Blade on page 4-89.2. Install the CD-4ODTA into a slot in the chassis.Limitation depends on the connecting Router,Multiplexer or Exchange. If the UNIVERGESV8100 is connected to another UNIVERGESV8100 directly, there is up to 1,500 ohms loopresistance (including system). When a router or multiplexer is connectedinstead of a trunk, the SG terminal of the routeror multiplexer must be connected to the FGgrounding terminal on the UNIVERGESV8100 chassis. When a tie line trunk isconnected, the FG terminal must be connectedto the ground. If the FG terminal is notconnected correctly, the signal may fail. When tie lines are connected to the system, becareful of the Tip and Ring polarity.
