May 2001System Hardware Manual 3 - 39A6-324000-642-01 – Release 4.0May 2001SECTION 7D ETERMININGR EQUIRED EQUIPMENTTo determine equipment type and quantity to be installed, the technicianmust be familiar with station equipment available and interface ETUs.7.1 Station EquipmentThe station equipment that can be installed with the Xen System islisted below:# ETW-type TEL are not available in New Zealand.7.2 Interface ETUsThe slots in the Xen Master KSUs are completely flexible except forthe first slot in each KSU that is reserved for the CPUB( )-U13 ETUor EXP-U13 ETU. Table 3-2 Interface Slot and System PortNumbers for a Xen System shows the slot and port numbers.The MIFA-U13 ETU must be installed in the ISA slot for MIS (part ofthe ACD feature) to work.MIFM-U13 ETU must be installed in slots S1 or S2 for the internalsocket modem to work. It can be installed in the ISA slot or S1/S2 ifa locally provided external modem is used.The slots in the Xen Axis KSU are also flexible in their cordassignments, except for some specific cases which will be detailedlater in this manual.
