318iLO network Failed Flash RecoveryMost firmware upgrades finish successfully. In the unlikely event of server power loss during aniLO firmware upgrade, iLO might be recoverable when power is restored. When the iLO starts, the startup code performs image validation on the main image. If the imageis corrupted or incomplete and it cannot be recovered automatically with the Secure Recoveryfeature, iLO enters Failed Flash Recovery mode. Failed Flash Recovery activates an FTP serverwithin iLO. The FTP server enables you to send an image to iLO for programming. The FTP serverdoes not provide any other services. This feature is available only if iLO is configured to use the Production security state.A network client can connect to the FTP server. The user name for the connection is test, and thepassword is flash. To send a firmware image to iLO, use the FTP client PUT command. Afterreceiving the image, iLO validates the image. If the image is a complete, signed, and validfirmware image, the kernel begins programming the FLASH partition. After the image is programmed into the FLASH partition, reset iLO by issuing the RESETcommand to the iLO FTP server.Example:F:\ilo>ftp 192.168.1.2Connected to 192.168.1.2.220 FTP Recovery server ready.
