AA7.1: BIU Setup Menus Page 7–17 Configuring the Bus Interface Units7.1 BIU Setup MenusThe Bus Interface Units store their configuration parameters in an on-board mem-ory chip. Each unit must be individually configured as required.A complete list of the required settings for each unit will generally be provided withthe system-specific installation drawings.7.1.1 Setup Menu Access CodesTo prevent unintentional or unauthorized changes to the steering system setup,the bus interface units’ setup menus are protected by acces codes:Setup 358 Device Functional Configuration:Configures a FU steering control unit (3-key-unit) as either- FU-mini-wheel,- WCU(main), or- WCU(remote);Configures a 6-key-unit as either- Dual Rudder Sync Selector,- Steering Mode Selector,- Steering Position Selector, or- Steering Alarm Module.Additionally, this setup provides a number of configuration optionsfor the general behaviour of the respective device.Setup 600 General Configuration:Provides the inidvidual configuration options for the device.The avaiable options depend upon the device’s functional config-uration as selected in the Setup 358.Setup 610 CAN Setup and Service Information:Selects the operating baud rate ot the CAN network and providesservice information to facilitate troubleshooting (unit diagnostics).The available options are identical for all devices.
