9Vent piping outside the Building is permitted under the following conditions:1. The maximum length outside the building is 20 feet.2. Only 3” pipe can be used.3. All normal termination clearancesare maintained.4. All exterior exhaust vent pipes areinsulated with 3.5”-ID, ½”-thickClosed Cell Foamed PolyolefinTubing i.e., “Tundra Seal Plus” orequivalent.5. The pipe is supported every 24”6. The exhaust and inlet are slopedback to the boiler ½ ” elevation forevery foot.4.0 CONDENSATE DRAINThis unit produces water as aproduct of combustion. Much of thiswater condenses on the heatexchanger and in the ventingsystem. All exhaust piping must beon a slope back to the boiler ¼” perlinear foot of vent. Steps must be taken to ensure that condensate does not collect in the ventingsystem. Condensate must be drained from the boiler into a household drain.Note: check with your municipality, or local gas company to determine if disposal of combustioncondensate is permitted. In the State of Massachusetts the condensate must be neutralizedprior to entering a drain. The following are important notes that must be taken intoconsideration when constructing the condensate system:• DO NOT run condensate line outside. A frozen or blockeddrain will cause the condensate to fill the combustionchamber. This will result in a no heat condition, as the unitwill shut down, and damage to the flame sensor, andcomponents can occur.• NEVER use copper, steel, or galvanized piping in theconstruction of the condensate system.• When a condensate pump is used or required, select apump that is designed for residential furnaces.WarningFailure to properly connect the condensateline will cause combustion gases to enter theroom, possibly causing serious injury tooccupants or death.Insulation“Tundra SealPlus” 3.5” ID. ½”thickSupports every 24”12” plusallowanceabove gradeExhaustInletMaximum of 20 feet ispermitted for outside abuilding using 3” pipeONLY.Apply plate hereGas Vent Directly BelowKeep Free of ObstructionsCondensatefrom BoilerBottomPanelCondensateTrap & drainCondensate drainpipe must not besealed to allowoverflow, if blocked.CondensateSiphon
