Do not try to light by hand.B. Before operating smell all around the fireplace area for gas and next to the floor because some gas is heavier thanair and will settle on the floor.C. Do not use this fireplace if any part has been under water. Immediately call a qualified service technician to inspectthe fireplace and replace any part of the control system and any gas control which has been under water.WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS:• Turn off all gas to the fireplace.• Open windows.• Do not try to light any appliance.• Do not touch any electric switch; do not use any phonein your building.LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS1. Stop! Read the above safety information on this label.2. Remove batteries from transmitter.3. Turn off all electric power to the fireplace.4. This fireplace is equipped with an ignition device which automatically lights the pilot. Do not try to light the pilot byhand.5. Open the glass door.6. Turn manual shutoff valve clockwise to off. Located behind the access panel.7. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas. If you smell gas including near the floor, STOP! Follow “B” in the abovesafety information on this label. If you don’t smell gas go to the next step.8. Turn manual shutoff valve counter-clockwise to on.9. Close the glass door.10. Turn on all electric power to the fireplace and re-install batteries into the transmitter.11. Push the “ON” button on the transmitter. You should here an audible beep from the receiverwhich indicates communication. (Refer to Fireplace Operations for remote activation).TO TURN OFF GAS1. Turn off all electric power to the fireplace if service is to be performed.2. Access door inside the firebox must be removed to access the manual shutoff valve.3. If alternate shut-off valve was installed it can be shutoff instead of going through the fireplace to access thefireplace shut off valve.• Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor'sphone.
