NX5 PRE-INSTALLATION MANUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSPAGE 1.3.2 VERSION 0.1 2015-08-01Preparing to Move the Transmitter into PlaceThe NX5 is designed for ease of movement into its final position. Consider the following when planningyour installation: An integrated pallet at the bottom of the cabinet accepts the forks of a forklift or a pallet jack(see Figure 1.3.3 on page 1.3.6). The pallet opening runs front through rear, is 17 inches(43 cm) wide, 3.5 inches (9 cm) high and 7/8 inches (2 cm) above the floor level. Lifting accessis from front to rear so plan for appropriate lifting equipment clearances. Ensure the forlift orpallet jack is capable of lifting the transmitter’s weight (see “Weight”). If you are planing to use a forklift, make sure that its two forks will fit together within the17-inch (43 cm) wide space. If you are planning to use a pallet jack, arrange for a 27-inch wide jack. Only one fork of thepallet jack will be used, but it can be centered under the transmitter cabinet. Nautel alsorecommends arranging for an additional person who can assist with stabilizing thetransmitter while it is being lifted and moved by the pallet jack operator. Nautel provides casters that can be installed on the bottom of the cabinet to allow thetransmitter to be rolled into place. This method requires less clearance (i.e., no forklift) in frontof the transmitter’s final location.WeightThe fully assembled NX5 weighs 317 kg (696 lbs) crated and 261 kg (573 lbs) uncrated.NOTE: Weight includes the power transformer, which is installed in the transmitter for shipping.DimensionsThe NX5 main transmitter has the following overall dimensions.
