70MoviesMoviesRecording MoviesTo shoot movies with sound recorded via the built-in microphone, select shootingmode and follow the steps below.1 Enter movie mode by pressing theA button in shooting mode andselecting D (press the multi selectorH or I), and then pressing the kbutton.The maximum length of the movie that canbe recorded is displayed in the monitor.2 Press the shutter-release button allthe way down to start recording.Camera focuses on subject in the center ofthe frame.A progress bar at the bottom of the monitorshows the amount of recording timeremaining.To end recording, press the shutter-release button all the way down a second time.Recording stops automatically when the internal memory or memory card becomes full,or recording time reaches 25 minutes.B Recording Movies• Flash mode (A 28), self-timer (A 30), and exposure compensation (A 32) cannot be applied orchanged. Macro mode (A 31) is available.• Macro mode setting cannot be applied or changed while movies are being recorded. Apply orchange setting as necessary before movie recording begins.• Optical zoom cannot be adjusted once movie recording begins. Digital zoom cannot be appliedbefore movie recording begins. However, digital zoom (up to 2×) can be applied while movies arebeing recorded.• The angle of view (field of view) when recording movies is smaller than when taking still pictures.B Note on Recording MoviesWhen the movie has been fully recorded to the internal memory or memory card, the monitordisplay will revert to the normal shooting mode display. Do not open the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover while movies are being recorded.
