About two hours arerequired to charge battery when no charge remains.Replacing BatteriesTurn the camera off before removing or inserting batteries. Do not open the battery-chamber cover while the power-on lamp is lit. To remove the battery, open the battery-chamber cover and slide the battery out. Note that the battery may become hot duringuse; observe due caution when removing the battery.Read Battery WarningsRead and follow the battery warnings and cautions on pages i–ii and 104 of this manu-al, together with any warnings and instructions supplied by the battery manufacturer.Alternative Power SourcesTo power the camera continuously for extended periods, usean EH-54 AC adapter. Do not, under any circumstances, useanother make or model of AC adapter. Failure to observethis precaution could result in overheating or in damage tothe camera.3 Close the battery-chamber coverClose the cover () and slide it in until it latches().11 Open the battery-chamber coverPressing battery-chamber cover latch, slide thecover in the direction shown () and open thecover ().122 Insert the batteryInsert the battery as shown in the label at the en-trance to the battery chamber, making sure that thepositive (“+”) and negative (“–”) terminals are inthe correct orientation.Inserting BatteriesInserting the battery upsidedown or backwards coulddamage the camera.
