54More on PlaybackTaking a Closer Look: Playback ZoomRotating the zoom control to g (i) during full-frameplayback mode (A 30) zooms the current picture, withthe center of the picture displayed in the monitor.The guide at lower right shows which portion of thepicture is enlarged.The following operations can be performed whilepictures are zoomed in.Pictures Taken in Face PriorityWhen zooming in (playback zoom) on a picture takenusing the face-priority function (A 118) by rotatingthe zoom control to g (i), the picture will be enlargedwith the face detected with shooting at the center ofthe monitor.• If more than one face was detected, the picture willbe enlarged with the face on which focus wasacquired at the center of the monitor. Tap M or N to display other facesthat were detected.• When the zoom control is rotated to g (i) or f (h) to adjust the zoom ratio,the center of the picture (normal playback zoom display), rather than the face, isdisplayed at the center of the monitor.To Use Description AZoom in g (i) Zoom increases each time the zoom control isrotated to g (i), to a maximum of 10×. –Zoom out f (h)Zoom decreases each time the zoom control isrotated to f (h).
