Youcan turn off the probe at any time bypressing START/STOP. ALWAYS removefood immediately once the desiredinternal temperature is reached toprevent overcooking.6a Probe cooking complete: Removeprotein from the unit, keeping theprobe inserted, and place it on a plateto rest for at least 5 minutes. Theprotein will carry-over cook while it isresting. When it reaches the carry-overcook temperature in the chart on theprevious page, cooking is complete.6b Cooking more food without the probe:If you are cooking more food using thesame function, but do not need to usethe probe, simply press TEMP iQ and usethe TEMP down arrow to set the probe to“OFF.” Then press the up TIME arrowto set a new cook time. Adjust thefunction temperature if needed. PressSTART/STOP to begin. If you are cookingmore food using a different function,select that function before setting thenew cook time and temperature.6c Batch cooking with the probe: If youare batch cooking more protein, removethe probe from the cooked proteinand insert it in the center of the largestpiece of uncooked protein. Press theTEMP iQ button, set the desired internaltemperature, and press START/STOP.“Add Food” will display, let the unit runfor approximately 3 minutes beforeopening the hood and adding the nextbatch of protein. Then follow step 5.3 Place the accessory required for yourselected cook function in the unit andclose the hood. Press START/STOPto begin preheating. While the unit ispreheating, insert the probe horizontallyinto the center of the thickest part of thelargest piece of protein, close to (but nottouching) the bone. DO NOT insert theprobe vertically or at an angle, as it will notdeliver an accurate reading. ALWAYS insertit into the thickest piece of protein.4 When the unit has preheated and“Add Food” flashes on the screen, openthe hood, place food in the unit, andclose the hood over the probe cord. Thedisplay will now show the temperatureprobe reading as the food cooks.USING THE NINJA® FOODI™ PRO GRILL – CONT4 Press START/STOP to begin preheating.PRE will appear on the display screen,and the progress bar will begin. It cantake approximately 8 minutes to preheat.5 When preheating is complete, the unitwill beep and “Add Food” will flashacross on the display screen.6 Open the hood and place ingredients onthe grill grate. Once the hood is closed,cooking will begin and the timer willstart counting down.7 When cook time is complete, the unit willbeep and END will appear on the displayscreen. If you need to add more time tocook your food, press the TIME up arrowand press START/STOP. Time adjustmentdiffers when using the probe. Referencepage 10, step 6b when using the probe.8 Keep the hood open after removing yourfood so the unit will cool down morequickly. The stainless steel wrap on theexterior of the unit will be hot after cooking.COOKING FUNCTIONSEnsure the unit is plugged in before turningit on. Press the power button.Grill1 Place the cooking pot in the unit withthe indent on the pot aligned withthe rear bump on the main unit. Thenplace the grill grate in the pot with thehandles facing up. Ensure the splattershield is in place and close the hood.2 Press the GRILL button. The defaulttemperature level will illuminate onthe left side of the control panel andthe corresponding air temperature willappear on the display screen. Press theGrill button or the up and down TEMParrows to adjust the temperature setting.3 Press the up and down TIME arrowsto set the cook time, in 1-minuteincrements, up to 30 minutes, or followthe instructions on page 9 to set a probetemperature using TEMP iQ.NOTE: If batch cooking, refer to thebottom of page 8 for instructions.NOTE: DO NOT touch the hot probe orcord with bare hands during or just aftercooking. Always wear heat-resistant gloves.Refer to Fig. 1and Fig. 2 forcorrect placementof probe.Fig. 2Fig. 1Refer to Fig. 3for incorrectplacementof probe.Fig. 3NOTE: You can check the internaltemperature of food at any time, even if acook function is not running. Simply pressthe TEMP iQ button for 2 seconds.NOTE: If you would like to use thetemperature probe just to check yourfood, press TEMP iQ for 2 seconds andthe food’s internal temp will appearon the screen for 5 seconds. If thescreen starts to blink, you didn’t holdthe button long enough. Refer to theTroubleshooting section. |
