If Forward if busy is activated in your voicemailbox, the call is diverted to your voice mail. If not, the call is rejected.If you select Silence, the ringing tone is muted. You can then either answer orreject the incoming call.Note: If the HDB-4 or HS-5 headset is connected, you can answer or enda call by pressing the key on the headset.Answer a call with the keypad lockedTo answer a call with the Keyguard on, simply press the Talk key. During the call, allfeatures function as normal. When you end or reject the call, the keypad automat-ically relocks. See “Lock the keypad (Keyguard)” on page 22 for more information.Note: When the Keyguard is on, calls still may be possible to the officialemergency number programmed into your phone. Enter the emergencynumber and press the Send key.• ADJUST THE EARPIECE VOLUME• To increase the volume of acall, press the Scroll right key.• To decrease the volume of acall, press the Scroll left key.• When adjusting the volume, abar chart appears in the displayindicating the volume level.Note: You can only adjust the earpiece volume during an active call.• SPEAKER PHONEYou can use your phone as a speaker phone during a call. Do not hold the phone toyour ear when you are using it as a speaker phone.• To activate the speaker phone during a call, select Loudspeaker.• To deactivate the speaker phone during a call, select Handset.• The speaker phone is deactivated automatically when a call (or a call attempt)ends or when certain enhancements are connected.Note: When you select the New call option from the in-call menu, thespeaker phone does not automatically deactivate.
