11■ Software updatesNokia may produce software updates that may offer new features, enhanced functions, orimproved performance. You may be able to request these updates through the Nokia SoftwareUpdater PC application. To update the device software, you need the Nokia Software Updaterapplication and a compatible PC with Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP operating system,broadband internet access, and a compatible data cable to connect your device to the PC.To get more information and to download the Nokia Software Updater application, visitwww.nokia.com/softwareupdate or your local Nokia website.Downloading software updates may involve the transmission of large amounts of data throughyour service provider's network. Contact your service provider for information about datatransmission charges.Your service provider may send phone software updates over the air directly to your device.This option may not be available, depending on your phone.Make sure that the device battery has enough power, or connect the charger before startingthe update.Warning: If you install a software update, you cannot use the device, even to makeemergency calls, until the installation is completed and the device is restarted. Be sureto back up data before accepting installation of an update.■ Download contentYou may be able to download new content (for example, themes) to the phone (networkservice). This device uses various types ofDRM software to access DRM-protected content. With this device you can access contentprotected with WMDRM 10. If certain DRM software fails to protect the content, contentowners may ask that such DRM software’s ability to access the new DRM-protected contentbe revoked. Revocation may also prevent renewal of such DRM-protected content already inyour device. Revocation of such DRM software does not affect the use of content protectedwith other types of DRM or the use of non-DRM-protected content.
