31Menu methodYou can save the code for cancelling call forwarding andthen use the menu to cancel call forwarding. See ‘Addingfeature cancellation codes to the menu’ on page 27.Digital/analog selectionUse Menu 4 4 1 to choose a mode for your phone.Digit. & analog means the phone will work in digital oranalog networks. The phone tries to find a digital network butselects an analog network if no digital network is available.Analog forces the phone to use AMPS analog networks only.Digital forces the phone to use TDMA digital networks only.1-touch dialingThis feature allows you to make phone calls quickly andeasily with the touch of a button. Once you have assigned aphone number to a number key (2 through 8), you can pressand hold that key to dial the number. (You can also press thenumber key briefly and then press Call.)Note: Keys 1 and 9 are used exclusively for dialing your voicemailbox and for attempting emergency calls, respectively(see ‘Voice messages’ on page 43 and ‘Emergency calls’ onpage 25).Assigning numbers to keysBefore you can assign a phone number to a key, the phonenumber must be saved in your phone book (see page 16).Then follow the steps below.1 Press Menu 1 6.2 Scroll to the desired key, then press Assign.3 Press or to choose the name you want to assignto the selected key, then press Select.If a key already has a number assigned to it, you can pressOptions and then view, change, or erase the number assignment.
