PressMenu, select Messages andMessage settings.ProfileThe profile is a collection of thesettings required for sending textmessages. If more than one profileset is supported by your SIM card,select the set you want to change.You can, for example, send a textmessage as a fax (provided that thisfunction is supported by your serviceprovider) by simply selecting theprofile in which you have definedthe proper settings for faxtransmissions.Each profile has its own submenu:• Message centre number to savethe phone number of themessage centre needed forsending text messages.Key in or edit the phone numberand confirm with OK.• Messages sent as to request thenetwork to convert your Textmessages into alternativeformats Fax, Paging or E-mail(network service).In order to receive a convertedmessage, the recipient must havethe appropriate equipment, forexample a fax machine.• Message validity to set thelength of time that your textmessages are saved at themessage centre while attemptsare made to deliver them(network service).• Rename sending profile to editor change the profile name.Common• Delivery reports to request thenetwork to send delivery reportson your messages (networkservice).• Reply via same centre to requestthe network to route the replymessage via your own messagecentre (network service).• Character support you can selectthe Unicode option of Charactersupport to send messages usingspecial characters, such as ñ, inRomance and Slavic languages orRussian characters to acompatible phone, if supportedby your network.
