For instructionson how to turn the help text feature on and off, see "Device settings," page 42.■ Standby modeThe start screen is home base and indicates that the device is in the standby mode.HOME—The name of your service provider mayappear here. (1)Signal strength—A higher bar indicates a strongernetwork signal. (2)Battery level—A higher bar indicates more power inthe battery. (3)Left selection key—The Left selection key in thestandby mode opens the Go to menu. See "Go tooptions," page 41. (4)Middle selection key—Press the middle of the scroll key to select the itemdisplayed in the bottom center (middle selection area) of the display screen. Forexample, in the standby mode, press the middle of the scroll key to open theMenu. See "Device menu," page 24. (5)Right selection key—The Right selection key in the standby mode opens either theContacts menu (default), a service provider’s home page, or a user-specifiedfunction.
