General information■ Stickers in the salespackageThe stickers contain importantinformation for service andcustomer support purposes. Keepthese stickers in a safe place.■ Access codes• Security code (5 to 10 digits):The security code helps to protectyour phone against unauthoriseduse. The preset code is 12345.Change the code, and keep thenew code confidential and in asafe place separate from yourphone. You can set the phone torequest the code, see ”Securitysettings” on page 52.If you key in an incorrect securitycode five times in succession, thephone ignores further entries ofthe code. Wait for 5 minutes, andkey in the code again.• PIN and PIN2 codes (4 to 8digits):The PIN (Personal IdentificationNumber) code helps to protectyour SIM card againstunauthorised use. The PIN code isusually supplied with the SIMcard. You can set the phone torequest the PIN code each timethe phone is switched on, see”Security settings” on page 52.The PIN2 code may be suppliedwith the SIM card and is requiredto access some functions.• Module PIN and signing PIN:The module PIN is required toaccess the information in thesecurity module, see ”Securitymodule” on page 76.The signing PIN is required for thedigital signature, see ”Digitalsignature” on page 77. Themodule and signing PIN aresupplied with the SIM card if theSIM card has a security module init.If you key in an incorrect PINcode three times in succession,the phone may display PINblocked or PIN code blocked, forexample, and ask you to enter thePUK code.• PUK and PUK2 codes (8 digits):The PUK (Personal UnblockingKey) or PUK2 code is required tochange a blocked PIN code orPIN2 code.If the codes are not supplied withthe SIM card, contact your localservice provider for the codes.Copyright © 2004 Nokia.
