PTT provides directvoice communication. To connect,press the PTT key.You can use PTT to have aconversation with one person or witha group of people having compatibledevices. When your call is connected,the people you are calling do nothave to answer the phone. Theparticipants should confirm thereception of any communicationwhere appropriate, as there is noother confirmation whether therecipients have heard the call.To check availability and costs, andto subscribe to the service, contactyour network operator or serviceprovider. Roaming services may bemore limited than for normal calls.Before you can use the PTT service,you must define the required PTTservice settings. See ”PTT settings”p. 61.While you are connected to the PTTservice, you can use the otherfunctions of the phone. The PTTservice is not connected totraditional voice communication;therefore many of the servicesavailable for traditional voice calls(for example, voice mailbox) are notavailable for PTT communication.■ Connect to the PTTserviceTo connect to the PTT service, selectMenu > Push to talk > Switch PTTon. indicates the PTT connection.indicates that the service istemporarily unavailable. The phoneautomatically tries to reconnect tothe service until you disconnect fromthe PTT service. If you have addedchannels to the phone, you areautomatically joined to the activechannels, and if you have selected acontact, phonebook group orchannel as the default action for thePTT-key, then the name of theselected item is displayed in thestandby mode.To disconnect from the PTT service,select Switch PTT off.
